She’s a doll living in a Barbie world.
Aaliyah has joined the hallowed halls of legendary singers immortalized in Barbie form by doll maker Mattel.
The limited edition Barbie doll, honoring her lasting impact on music, fashion, and pop culture, was made available for pre-order on Thursday, coinciding with what would have been the late icon's 46th birthday.
In a testament to her enduring legacy, the Aaliyah Barbie sold out online in just 30 minutes, according to The Detroit Free Press. Re-sellers have already listed the doll — which retails for $55 — for upwards of $100 on eBay.

It is expected that Barbie will be available again on Mattel's and Target's websites, as well as in Target stores, by the time it officially launches for sale on January 26.
Aaliyah — born Aaliyah Dana Haughton — died in 2001 at the age of 22 after a tragic plane crash in the Bahamas. Known for her groundbreaking contributions to R&B, hip-hop and pop music, Aaliyah is remembered not only for her powerful voice but also for her distinctive fashion sense that blended street style with elegance.
Inspired by the outfit she donned in her "One in a Million" music video, Aaliyah's Barbie sports a chic leather jacket, cargo trousers, and stylish accessories that embody the late star's effortlessly cool vibe.

Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah's brother, worked alongside Mattel to capture the essence of the singer in the design of the doll.
Haughton recalled, "I can still picture my sister spending hours with her beloved Barbie dolls during our childhood. She would create elaborate scenarios where they sang, danced, and held mini concerts."
"I now realize that she was envisioning aspirations that would ultimately transform into reality when she began her journey in the entertainment industry at the young age of fifteen."

“Instilling confidence, having faith in yourself, and fully accepting your true self encapsulates the spirit of Barbie,” he remarked. “My sister would be thrilled to witness her legacy honored in such a manner.”
Aaliyah broke onto the music scene in 1994 at just 15 years old with her single “Back & Forth,” which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She went on to have a No. 1 hit in 2000 with her hit “Try Again” and won three American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and five Grammy nominations over the course of her short career.
Aaliyah's Barbie is the newest addition to Mattel's Music Collector Series, which features dolls inspired by legendary music figures like Gloria Estefan, Tina Turner, Elton John, and Stevie Nicks.

Krista Berger, Senior Vice President of Barbie and Head of Dolls at Mattel, stated, “We aspire for the Aaliyah Barbie to be an inspiring symbol for her devoted fans and Barbie enthusiasts around the globe, encouraging them that, just like Aaliyah, they have the ability to unleash their infinite potential and accomplish whatever goals they pursue.”
Missy Elliott honored her late friend on Thursday and weighed in on Mattel’s decision to make Aaliyah a Barbie.
“Babygirl the IMPACT that you have left in the years you spent here with the world is UNDENIABLE. Leaving generations to know your name ‘AALIYAH’,” she wrote on Instagram “They continue to learn of your UNIQUE Music ORIGINAL Style & GLOWING personality. You will NEVER be 4Gotten.”
Elliott expressed his admiration for Rashad, saying, “Sending lots of love your way; your sister would be so proud of you.”
