In his 2023 tell-all memoir, “Spare,” the Queen’s aids “fixed” the outcome of the meeting before it even started.
Harry mentioned that he reached the summit and stated there were five possible ways for him and Meghan to leave royal life. According to him, Meghan favored the third option, which he claimed was intended to be a compromise.
Harry mentioned that the fifth option was for the couple to exit. After an hour had passed, he noted that The Queen's private secretary, whom he affectionately referred to as "the Bee," entered the room with a draft announcement regarding the Sussexes' departure.

Harry expressed his disbelief, claiming that the summit was merely a spectacle. Additionally, he concocted a story about arriving early to speak with his grandmother, stating that his father's secretary was so startled that she hurried off to find him.
Harry alleged that William glared at him with a deadly intensity. In their Netflix series, Meghan expressed her anger at being excluded from the summit where she wanted to voice her thoughts.
As absurd as it may seem, Harry and Meghan are said to have taken cues from Meghan's role as Rachel Zane in the legal series "Suits" for their meeting.

"One of the essential lessons Rachel learned from the show was, 'Never sign anything without receiving something in exchange,' along with the principle of 'Stand your ground.'"
Lacey elaborated.
An insider familiar with the palace revealed,
“It felt as if I was negotiating with a no-nonsense attorney from the heart of Hollywood.”
Harry and Meghan were after guarantees on every aspect of the conversation like it was a contractual negotiation.
The Queen cherished her grandson deeply, yet she faced a difficult choice that was essential for the welfare of the monarchy.
In her remarks, the Queen expressed her desire for them to have remained active members of the royal family, but acknowledged their wish for independence.
The Sussexes Went Against The Queen's Desires
"While we would have liked them to continue as full-time working members of the royal family, we respect and understand their desire to pursue a more independent lifestyle as a family, all while still being a cherished part of our family."
The Queen announced.
The decision was said to be “a constructive and supportive way forward.” However, the truth is that the Sussexes were required to step down from their roles. Harry would also lose his military titles and his role as Commonwealth youth ambassador.
The Queen made it clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not permitted to utilize their titles for any commercial purposes.
